Hammond PJ12106 12x10x6 Fiberglass Type 4X/6P Junction Box

The PJ12106 is a 12.13 in H x 10.26 in W x 6.13 in D (308 x 261 x 156 mm) Type 4X polyester junction box with a lift-off screw cover. It is part of the PJ Series, designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, and it provides insulation and protection where equipment may be hosed down or be very wet.

The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray, with a 0.14 in (3.55 mm) wall thickness on the drawing. The material is easily punched, cut or drilled, and enhanced UV inhibitors protect against outdoor weathering. Four 316 stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings, threaded into #10-32 brass inserts, clamp the cover onto a captive, oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket.

Four 316 stainless steel feet fasten to rear brass inserts with 316 stainless steel screws, for an overall height of 13.82 in (351.13 mm) as drawn. The optional 14R1109 inner panel, 10.75 x 8.88 in (273 x 226 mm), or a terminal kit attaches to #10-32 threaded brass inserts, with mounting hardware included. Shipping weight is 7 lbs (3.18 kg).

The lift-off cover PJ12106 is marked Type 6P/IP68 in the series table, alongside UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It is rated for 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) operation with an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), and is RoHS and REACH compliant. The hinged cover version is PJ12106H.
