Hammond PJ1086RL 10x8x6 In Deep Type 4X Solid Lid Fiberglass Box

The PJ1086RL is the 6 in deep version of the 10 x 8 PJ raised lid junction box, with a solid cover. Its ordering-table size is 10.13 x 8.26 x 6.13 in (257 x 210 x 156 mm), giving extra depth for taller terminal blocks, relays or instrument hardware in locations that are hosed down, very wet, hot or chemically aggressive.

The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors to resist outdoor weathering. Openings can be punched, cut or drilled on site. According to its drawing, this size uses a closed cell neoprene gasket, a stainless steel hinge and a single stainless steel lockable snap latch located on center, and the latch provides for padlocking.

The PJ1086RL uses the same optional inner panel as the 4 in deep 10 x 8 box, part 14R0907 at 8.75 x 6.88 in, secured on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. Four stainless steel mounting feet attach to the rear through #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel screws, with .34 in (8.74 mm) foot holes; stainless brackets and hardware are provided.

Series ratings apply: UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, cUL per CSA 22.2 No. 94, NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. The enclosure operates between 130°C and -40°C (266°F to -40°F) with a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 6 lbs (2.72 kg).
