Hammond PJ1086 10x8x6 Fiberglass Type 4X/6P Junction Box

The PJ1086 is a Type 4X polyester junction box measuring 10.13 in H x 8.26 in W x 6.13 in D (257 x 210 x 156 mm), with a lift-off cover secured by screws. It offers two more inches of depth than the PJ1084 on the same face and is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures in wet or hose-down conditions.

Box and matching cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish; the material is easily punched, cut or drilled, and enhanced UV inhibitors protect against outdoor weathering. Four stainless steel captive cover screws with retaining O-rings thread into #10-32 brass inserts, and a captive, oil resistant closed cell neoprene gasket provides a positive seal.

Four stainless steel mounting feet attach to rear brass inserts with stainless steel screws, and the drawing shows 11.84 in (300.65 mm) overall height with feet. The optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), or a terminal kit mounts on #10-32 threaded brass inserts, with hardware included. Shipping weight is 6 lbs (2.72 kg).

As a lift-off cover model, the PJ1086 is marked Type 6P/IP68 in the series table, in addition to UL 508A and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), is suited to high temperature and highly corrosive applications, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. The hinged cover version is PJ1086H.
