Hammond PCJ884H 8x8x4 in Type 4X Polycarbonate Box, Solid Cover, Feet

The PCJ884H is a 8 x 8 x 4 in Type 4X polycarbonate junction box with a solid, hinged screw cover and polycarbonate mounting feet. Body and cover are injected polycarbonate in a light gray finish, giving a non-metallic housing designed to insulate and protect controls and components in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Typical duty includes industrial pump controls, waste water and irrigation control, plus solar/wind and chemical plant installations.

The square 8 x 8 x 4 in body measures 7.94 in (202 mm) high, 8.15 in (207 mm) wide and 3.98 in (101 mm) deep, so the optional PCJR0808 inner panel grows to 6.75 in x 6.88 in (171 mm x 175 mm), wider than the PCJR0705 panel used in the 8 x 6 x 4 in size. The panel mounts on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel truss screws and is drawn in 0.100 in (2.54 mm) aluminum or 0.075 in (1.91 mm) white steel. Sealing is by a closed cell neoprene gasket, with a stainless steel hinge pin and two stainless steel captive cover screws.

Mounting is by four polycarbonate feet fixed with stainless steel flange and feet screws into #10-32 brass inserts. The drawing shows four .32 in (8.17 mm) mounting holes at 8.75 in (222.24 mm) by 6.91 in (175.45 mm) centers and an overall height of 9.46 in, and mounting hardware is included.

Across the PCJ series the enclosure is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed as Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with the same NEMA Types, and is rated IP66 per IEC 60529, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. It operates from -35°C to 130°C (-31°F to 266°F), has a 16 J (12 ft/lb) impact index, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg).
