Hammond PCJ864HF 8x6x4 in Type 4X Polycarbonate Box, Solid Cover, Flange

The PCJ864HF is a 8 x 6 x 4 in Type 4X polycarbonate junction box with a solid, hinged screw cover and polycarbonate flanges. Body and cover are injected polycarbonate in a light gray finish, giving a non-metallic housing designed to insulate and protect controls and components in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Typical duty includes industrial pump controls, waste water and irrigation control, plus solar/wind and chemical plant installations.

This 8 x 6 x 4 in size measures 7.94 in (202 mm) high by 6.16 in (156 mm) wide and 3.98 in (101 mm) deep, giving a taller mounting surface than the 6 x 6 while keeping the same width and depth. The optional PCJR0705 inner panel is 6.75 in x 4.88 in (171 mm x 124 mm) and threads onto four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel truss screws; the drawing shows it in 0.100 in (2.54 mm) aluminum or 0.075 in (1.91 mm) white steel. The cover seals on a closed cell neoprene gasket and hinges on a stainless steel pin, secured by two stainless steel captive cover screws.

For wall or panel mounting, the PCJ864HF carries two polycarbonate flanges (glued) with 8X R.170 in (4.32 mm) slots; the drawing gives an overall height of 9.63 in across the flanges, with slot centers 8.75 to 8.88 in apart vertically and 4.00 in horizontally. The flanges fix with #10-32 brass inserts and stainless steel screws, and mounting hardware is included.

Across the PCJ series the enclosure is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed as Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with the same NEMA Types, and is rated IP66 per IEC 60529, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. It operates from -35°C to 130°C (-31°F to 266°F), has a 16 J (12 ft/lb) impact index, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
