Hammond PCJ884CCHF 8x8x4 in Type 4X Polycarbonate Box, Clear Cover, Flange

The PCJ884CCHF is a Type 4X polycarbonate junction box in the 8 x 8 x 4 in nominal size, fitted with a hinged, screw-fastened clear cover and polycarbonate flanges. The clear lid leaves the contents visible with the cover closed; the light gray body and the cover are both injected polycarbonate. It is designed to insulate and protect controls and components in indoor and outdoor conditions, with applications that include industrial pump controls, waste water, irrigation control, solar/wind and chemical plants.

The square 8 x 8 x 4 in body measures 7.94 in (202 mm) high, 8.15 in (207 mm) wide and 3.98 in (101 mm) deep, so the optional PCJR0808 inner panel grows to 6.75 in x 6.88 in (171 mm x 175 mm), wider than the PCJR0705 panel used in the 8 x 6 x 4 in size. The panel mounts on four #10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel truss screws and is drawn in 0.100 in (2.54 mm) aluminum or 0.075 in (1.91 mm) white steel. Sealing is by a closed cell neoprene gasket, with a stainless steel hinge pin and two stainless steel captive cover screws.

The PCJ884CCHF mounts through two polycarbonate flanges (glued), with four .34 in (8.65 mm) mounting holes at 8.75 in (222.24 mm) by 6.00 in (152.40 mm) centers. Flange screws thread into #10-32 brass inserts (stainless steel flange and feet screws), and mounting hardware is included.

Across the PCJ series the enclosure is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed as Type 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with the same NEMA Types, and is rated IP66 per IEC 60529, V-0 per UL 94 and UV (f1) per UL746C. It operates from -35°C to 130°C (-31°F to 266°F), has a 16 J (12 ft/lb) impact index, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Shipping weight is 3 lbs (1.36 kg).
