Hammond N1J884 8x8x4" Square Type 1 Enclosure with Inner Panel

The N1J884 is a square 8 x 8 x 4 inch Type 1 wallmount enclosure in gray powder-coated steel, supplied with a 6.25 x 6.25 inch white inner panel. It fits indoor applications such as small control stations and instrument housings where oil-tight or dust-tight protection is not needed.

Hammond forms and spot welds the box from 16 gauge steel and hangs a full-swing formed steel door on butt hinges, fastened with a slotted quarter-turn latch. A 14 gauge steel inner panel is included. The enclosure and cover carry an ANSI 61 gray powder coat and the inner panel is finished in white powder coating. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud on the box.

Nominal dimensions for the N1J884 are 8 x 8 x 4 inches (203 mm x 203 mm x 102 mm), with a 6.25 x 6.25 inch inner panel. Per the part drawing, the door opening is 7.00 x 7.00 inches and the door itself measures 8.38 x 8.30 inches. The drawing shows an overall depth of 4.12 inches including the door. Shipping weight is 7 lbs (3.18 kg).

Through holes in the back allow direct wall mounting. Series accessories include additional inner panels, perforated inner panels and a Type 1 lock kit.

The enclosure is rated UL-50 Type 1 (UL File E65324) and CSA Type 1 (certificate LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 1 and IEC 60529 IP20. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the N1J series is listed on the manufacturer's EU declaration of conformity to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
