The MHKD1 is a 6" padlocking handle with defeater for a 1-point latch, made from zinc die-cast and rated NEMA 12, 4. It is the defeater version of the 1-point handle in the MHK Series Type 12/4, 4X Handle Kits, for panel builders whose enclosure doors call for a defeater-equipped handle in addition to padlock security.
The zinc cast handle is finished in textured powder coat black. It includes a removable handle stop for clockwise or counter-clockwise operation and the series' padlock "trigger" design for security requirements. The handle maintains the NEMA rating of the enclosure.
For field installation, the handle can be used on Hammond 1418, 1422, UHD, HN4 and HWHK enclosures with a minimum enclosure height of 24" (600mm); it can optionally be installed at the factory by contacting Hammond.
