Hammond MB181170 189x110x70mm Solid-Lid Polystyrene Enclosure

The MB181170 is a 70 mm deep enclosure on the large MB Series footprint, fitted with a solid lid. It is a rugged electronic instrument enclosure well suited to mounting printed circuit boards for hand-held, desktop or wall mount applications.

It is molded in polystyrene, with a smooth light gray lid (RAL 7035) and a smooth dark gray bottom (RAL 7012). The front and rear panels are an integral part of the bottom unit. Four M4-0.7 x 14mm cover screws thread into integrated brass inserts and are hidden in a recess in the base.

The part page lists 7.4 x 4.33 x 2.76 in (188 x 110 x 70 mm); the series ordering table lists outside dimensions of 189 x 110 x 70 mm. The internal space is 183 mm long, 104 mm wide and 64 mm deep. The solid lid gives an IP40 rating, and the enclosure is UL94 HB.

The MB181170 ships boxed with the enclosure, lid, four cover screws and four P.C. board screws. Recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). Shipping weight is 0.6 lbs (0.27 kg). It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
