Hammond MB181170VL 189x110x70mm Vented Two-Tone Enclosure

The MB181170VL is the ventilated-lid version of the 189 x 110 x 70 mm MB Series enclosure. It provides a large polystyrene housing for circuit boards in hand-held, desktop or wall mount applications, with lid vents for electronics that need airflow.

The enclosure is molded in polystyrene, finished with a smooth light gray lid (RAL 7035) and smooth dark gray bottom (RAL 7012). The front and rear panels are an integral part of the bottom unit. Four M4-0.7 x 14mm cover screws thread into integrated brass inserts and are hidden in a recess in the base.

The part page lists the size as 7.4 x 4.33 x 2.76 in (188 x 110 x 70 mm); the series ordering table gives 189 x 110 x 70 mm outside. Internal dimensions are 183 mm long, 104 mm wide and 63 mm deep. As a vented version it is rated IP20, and the material is UL94 HB.

The MB181170VL ships boxed with the box, lid, four cover screws and four P.C. board screws, weighing 0.57 lbs (0.26 kg). Recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and available with factory machining or printing.
