Hammond MB158055VL 150x80x55mm Vented-Lid Polystyrene Box

The MB158055VL is the 150 x 80 x 55 mm MB Series enclosure with a ventilated lid. It gives electronics designers a mid-size polystyrene housing for circuit boards in hand-held, desktop or wall mount use, with vents in the lid for applications that need airflow rather than dust sealing.

The enclosure is molded in polystyrene and finished with a smooth light gray lid (RAL 7035) and smooth dark gray bottom (RAL 7012). Front and rear panels are integral to the bottom unit. The lid fastens with four cover screws, called out as M3-0.5 x 14mm, which thread into integrated brass inserts and are hidden in a recess in the base.

Outside dimensions are 5.91 x 3.15 x 2.17 in (150 x 80 x 55 mm). Internal dimensions are 144 mm long, 74 mm wide and 49 mm deep. As a vented version it carries an IP20 rating; the material is rated UL94 HB.

Supplied in a box with the enclosure, lid, four cover screws and four P.C. board screws, the MB158055VL weighs 0.32 lbs (0.15 kg). Recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
