Hammond HYW30248SS 30x24x8 In Hygienic Stainless Wallmount Enclosure

HYW30248SS is the tallest 8 in deep enclosure in the HYW Series of Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Steel Wallmount Enclosures, at 30 in high and 24 in wide. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment in harsh, hygienic environments and gives panel builders a large mounting area in a shallow wallmount profile.

Construction starts with formed, smooth 304 stainless steel, with every seam continuously welded and ground smooth and a natural #4 dairy finish on the cover and body. A 25° sloped top sheds water and gives room to consider mounting controls. The door closes on 316 stainless steel quarter-turn hygienic latches that require a tool to open; stiffeners are fitted where required, and an internal alignment guide helps prevent door sag.

The internal hinge design supports easy cleaning in hose-down environments; the hinges open the door to 105 degrees and can be removed for a reverse swing or on-site work. A hygienic blue silicone gasket, replacement part HYG3024, mounts around the door edge and can be removed and re-installed for cleaning. Collar studs accept the optional 18P2721 inner panel (27.00 in x 21.00 in, not included), and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts is supplied.

There are no pre-drilled wall mounting holes, which leaves weld-in-place or stand-off mounting open. A bonding stud is fitted on the door and a grounding stud in the enclosure. The HYW30248SS holds UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12 listings, meets NSF/ANSI 169, complies with IP 66, IP69 and IP69K, and ships at 70 lbs (31.75 kg).
