Hammond HYW242412SS 24-Inch Square Hygienic Stainless Wallmount, 12 In Deep

The HYW242412SS is the deepest square 24 x 24 in enclosure in the HYW Series of Hygienic Type 4X Stainless Steel Wallmount Enclosures, with a 12 in depth for larger internal equipment. It is designed to enclose electrical and electronic equipment and protect it against harsh, hygienic environments in wallmount applications that are hosed down.

The body and cover are formed, smooth 304 stainless steel, natural stainless with a smooth #4 dairy finish, and all seams are continuously welded and ground smooth. Its top slopes at 25° so water will not sit on it, while also offering potential for controls mounting. Tool-operated hygienic quarter-turn latches in 316 stainless steel secure the door, stiffeners add strength and rigidity where required, and an internal alignment guide limits sag.

The door swings 105 degrees on interior hinges that are easily removed to reverse the swing or to modify the enclosure on site. Its hygienic blue silicone gasket runs around the whole door edge and lifts off for cleaning or replacement; the replacement part is HYG2424. Collar studs are provided for mounting the optional 18P2121 inner panel (21.00 in x 21.00 in, not included), and a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts is in the box.

The enclosure is 24.00 in (610 mm) high at H1, 24.00 in (610 mm) wide and 12.00 in (305 mm) deep. The drawing shows 28.89 in overall height including the sloped top, 12.86 in overall depth, a 21.25 in x 21.54 in door opening and 17.88 in x 18.17 in of clear space available on the door. It uses the same gasket and inner panel as the 8 in and 10 in deep square models.

No wall mounting holes are pre-drilled, so the HYW242412SS can be welded in place or mounted on stand-offs. A bonding stud is provided on the door and a grounding stud is installed in the enclosure. It is listed UL 508A and cUL Type 3R, 4, 4X and 12, meets NSF/ANSI 169, complies with IP 66, IP69 and IP69K, and has a shipping weight of 69 lbs (31.30 kg).
