Hammond HYMPB1SS 1-Hole 22mm Hygienic Stainless Pushbutton Enclosure

The HYMPB1SS is a hygienic Type 4X stainless steel pushbutton enclosure with a single 22mm pushbutton hole, built for mounting one pushbutton or indicator in harsh, hygienic environments such as hose-down production areas. It is the 22mm-hole counterpart of the HYPB1SS and suits OEM machine builders and plant electricians who need a sealed single-operator station that stands up to washdown.

The body is formed 304 stainless steel with continuously welded seams ground smooth and a natural #4 dairy finish on both cover and enclosure. The top is sloped 3° on all four sides so water does not rest on it regardless of orientation. A silicone gasket mounts around the entire door edge and can be removed for cleaning or replaced with the HYG85 replacement gasket. The hex head screw cover can be completely removed for modifications, and a bonding stud on the door plus a grounding stud in the enclosure are provided.

The enclosure measures 7.94 in (202 mm) high by 4.88 in (124 mm) wide by 4.00 in (102 mm) deep (nominal 8 x 5 x 4 in). The drawing shows a 7.12 x 4.19 in door, a 6.00 x 3.10 in opening, 5.37 x 2.31 in of clear space on the door and 3.43 in of usable depth. The notched pushbutton hole measures 0.89 in on the drawing.

There are no pre-drilled wall mounting holes, leaving room for weld-in-place or stand-off mounting. The series is rated UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 12, 4, 4X, complies with NEMA 3R, 12, 4, 4X and IEC 60529 IP69/IP69K, and meets NSF/ANSI 169. The HYMPB1SS ships in a box at 8 lb (3.63 kg).
