The HMIK is the Main (Primary) Interlock Kit from the HMEIK Series, listed on its part page as the Master Interlock Kit. It is required for the main or primary door in an interlocked HME modular enclosure system, and is the starting point for any interlock arrangement that panel builders and OEM engineers design.
The kit is clear zinc plated and, like all kits in the series, maintains UL/CSA Type 12 approvals, so adding the interlock does not compromise the enclosure's Type 12 rating.
The HMIK ships in a bag at 1.2 lbs (0.54 kg) and is REACH and RoHS compliant. Hammond's ordering guide shows where the HMIK is used in common assemblies:
