Hammond EJ664S16 6x6x4 316 Stainless Type 4X Junction Box with Panel

The EJ664S16 is a square 6 x 6 x 4 in Eclipse Junior enclosure in 316 stainless steel. Designed as an instrument enclosure, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, electrical junction box or terminal wiring enclosure, it protects equipment where it may be hosed down, very wet, or where corrosion may be a problem.

The enclosure is 6 in H x 6 in W x 4 in D (152 x 152 x 102 mm). The drawing shows a 5.25 in door opening width, a 6.16 in wide door and 4.02 in of usable depth. Inside, a removable 14 gauge galvanized inner panel of 4.88 x 4.88 in (124 x 124 mm), unpainted, mounts on tapped studs (10-32 thread per the drawing) with the panel mounting hardware provided. The enclosure mounts on 14 gauge welded brackets.

Body and cover are formed from 16 gauge 316 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The formed lip on the enclosure and a seamless poured-in place gasket keep out flowing liquids and contaminants. The cover is continuously hinged on stainless steel hinges and opens 180°; quarter turn latches formed from 316 stainless steel need a tool to open, adding safety. A bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure are supplied with grounding hardware, and the finish is natural stainless steel, smooth brushed.

The EJ664S16 is UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 rated (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and RoHS and REACH compliant. It ships boxed at 5 lbs (2.27 kg). For high temperature applications a gasket retainer may be required; refer to the factory.
