Hammond EJ443 4x4x3 Type 4 Quarter-Turn Wallmount Junction Box

The EJ443 is the smallest Eclipse Junior enclosure: a 4 x 4 x 3 in Type 4 mild steel single-door wallmount junction box with a continuously hinged door and quarter turn latches. It is designed to enclose electrical and/or electronic equipment and protect it against harsh, industrial environments, and is used as an instrument enclosure, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, electrical junction box or terminal wiring enclosure.

The enclosure measures 4.00 in H x 4.00 in W x 3.00 in D (102 x 102 x 76 mm). Body and cover are formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes, and a formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants. Mounting is by 14 gauge welded brackets; the drawing shows 5.50 in overall height, Ø0.31 in holes on 4.75 x 2.75 in centres and 3.61 in overall depth.

The door hangs on 304 stainless steel continuous hinges, opens 180°, and seals on a seamless poured-in place gasket. Its black zinc diecast quarter turn latches use a slot that requires a tool to open. As a 4" x 4" model, the EJ443 has no inner panel (the series adds panels only to models larger than 4" x 4"). A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud on the enclosure and grounding hardware are provided.

The EJ443 is rated UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (UL File # E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (CSA Cert. # LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It is finished inside and out in recoatable ANSI 61 smooth gray powder; the same size in RAL 7035 textured light gray is EJ443LG. Shipping weight is 2 lbs (0.91 kg), boxed.
