Hammond CST5403 400A 3-Wire Splitter Trough, 60x10x6 Type 1

CST5403 is a 400 A (CU/AL) 3-wire splitter trough measuring 60 x 10 x 6 in, a longer body than the 48 in version for spreading out taps along the wall. It is intended for electricians, electrical contractors and facilities teams distributing a service to multiple loads in indoor locations.

The splitter block is factory installed and carries a 400 A copper / 400 A aluminum rating (CU/AL) per the ordering table, with block reference CSBL400. The series is designed for distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max using 3 or 4 wires, with 75 °C conductor ampacity permitted. The 4-wire version of this size is CST5404, and an empty version is CST5400.

The trough is formed and spot welded from 14 gauge mild steel and measures 60 in high, 10 in wide and 6 in deep (1,524 mm x 254 mm x 152 mm). The drawing shows a front opening of 58.75 x 9.61 in. A series of knockouts is provided on each side, with 0.88, 1.13 and 1.38 in diameters shown on the part drawing, and the hinged door is secured with a screw and fitted with a padlocking hasp. Cover and enclosure are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

The CST Series is CSA Certified and complies with IEC 60529, IP20 for Type 1 indoor use. CST5403 ships boxed at 59 lbs (26.76 kg), and the part is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.
