Hammond CSB404 400A 4-Wire Splitter Box, 24x17x6 Type 1 Steel

The CSB404 is the 4-wire, 400 A version of the CSB Series Type 1 mild steel splitter box. It comes with factory-installed splitter blocks in a 24.00 in x 17.00 in x 6.00 in (610 mm x 432 mm x 152 mm) enclosure, for contractors distributing a 4-wire feed indoors.

The series ordering table lists this size at 400/400 A (copper/aluminum) with the CSBL400 as the splitter block reference. CSB Series boxes are designed for indoor distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max using 3 or 4 wires, and 75 °C conductor ampacity is permitted. The 3-wire version is the CSB403 and the empty enclosure is the CSB400.

The box is formed and spot welded from steel, with enclosure and cover finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. It has a hinged door with screw closure, a padlocking hasp and a series of knockouts on each side. The drawing shows a 17.25 in x 24.25 in door, a 16.75 in x 23.89 in door opening and Ø0.25 in rear mounting holes spaced 14.00 in x 21.00 in.

Standards for the series are CSA Type 1 and compliance with IEC 60529, IP20.
