Hammond CSB403 400A 3-Wire Splitter Box, 24x17x6 Type 1 Steel

The CSB403 is a 400 A, 3-wire Type 1 splitter box with factory-installed splitter blocks. Measuring 24 in x 17 in x 6 in (610 mm x 432 mm x 152 mm), it is built for electricians distributing a 3-wire feeder to several branch conductors in indoor electrical spaces.

The CSB Series ordering table rates this size at 400/400 A for copper and aluminum conductors, and names the CSBL400 as its splitter block reference. The series is designed for indoor distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max using 3 or 4 wires, with 75 °C conductor ampacity permitted. The 4-wire version is the CSB404, and the empty box is the CSB400.

Construction is formed and spot-welded steel with the enclosure and cover finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. The hinged door closes with a screw and a padlocking hasp is provided. From the drawing: a 17.25 in x 24.25 in door, a 16.75 in x 23.89 in door opening, and Ø0.25 in rear mounting holes on 14.00 in x 21.00 in centres. A series of knockouts on each side handles conductor entry.

The CSB403 is CSA Type 1 and complies with IEC 60529 IP20. It is REACH and RoHS compliant and ships in a box at 31 lbs (14.06 kg). UPC 623980263748.
