Hammond CN4SB603 600A 3-Wire Type 4/3R Steel Splitter Box, 30x24x7

The CN4SB603 is the 600/600 A CU/AL, 3-wire splitter box at the top of the CN4SB series of Type 4/3R mild steel splitter boxes. It matches the series' maximum rating: distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max, with 75° C conductor ampacity permitted, making it the size for contractors splitting a full 600 A, 3-wire feed.

The series table lists the enclosure at 30.00 x 24.00 x 7.00 in (762 x 610 x 178 mm) H x W x D. The part page gives a nominal 30 x 24 x 8 in, and the drawing shows a 7.87 in overall depth. From the part drawing: a 29.97 x 23.97 in door, a 28.49 x 22.36 in door opening, a 28.17 x 22.17 in inner panel, and Ø0.50 in wall mounting holes at 28.50 x 22.50 in spacing.

Unlike the smaller sizes, this 30 x 24 in box is formed from heavier 14 gauge steel. Seams are smooth, continuously welded and ground smooth, and a formed lip with a seamless poured-in place gasket keeps out flowing liquids and contaminants. Splitter blocks are factory installed (reference CSBL600). The door uses quarter turn slot latches that need a tool, 304 stainless steel hinges with stainless steel pins, and stiffeners where required; it is removable and interchangeable. The enclosure and cover are finished in recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating, with a white powder coated inner panel included.

The CN4SB603 is CSA Type 3R, 12, 4 and complies with IEC 60529, IP66. It includes a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers, accepts optional grounding kit CGK600, and ships boxed at 74 lbs (33.57 kg).
