Hammond CN4SB204 225A 4-Wire Type 4/3R Steel Splitter Box, 18x12x5

The CN4SB204 is a 4-wire splitter box rated 225/180 A CU/AL, from the CN4SB series of Type 4/3R mild steel splitter boxes. It is the choice for contractors splitting a 4-wire service in the mid-size 18 x 12 in body, with factory installed splitter blocks ready for conductors. The series is designed for distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max, with 75° C conductor ampacity permitted.

The series table gives 18.00 in high, 12.00 in wide and 5.00 in deep (457 x 305 x 127 mm); the part page lists a nominal 18 x 12 x 6 in, and the drawing an overall depth of 5.85 in. Per the part drawing, the door is 17.97 x 11.97 in, the door opening 16.52 x 10.39 in, the inner panel 16.17 x 10.17 in, and the Ø0.50 in wall mounting holes sit on 16.50 x 10.50 in centres.

The enclosure is formed 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams ground smooth. A formed lip and seamless poured-in place gasket exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. Quarter turn slot latches require a tool for opening, hinges are 304 stainless steel with stainless steel pins, and the door is removable and interchangeable, with stiffeners where required. The splitter block reference is CSBL225. The enclosure and cover wear recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating; the included inner panel is white and mounts on collar studs.

The CN4SB204 is CSA Type 3R, 12, 4 and complies with IEC 60529, IP66. It includes a hardware kit with panel mounting nuts and sealing washers, takes optional grounding kit CGK225, and ships boxed at 17 lbs (7.71 kg).
