Hammond CN4SB203 225A 3-Wire Type 4/3R Steel Splitter Box, 18x12x5

The CN4SB203 is a 225/180 A CU/AL, 3-wire splitter box from the CN4SB series of Type 4/3R mild steel splitter boxes. At 18 in tall and 12 in wide it is the mid-size box in the series, for electricians distributing a 3-wire feed where the 125 A size is too small. The series is designed for distribution of up to 600 A (max) service at 600 V max, and 75° C conductor ampacity is permitted.

Series table dimensions are 18.00 x 12.00 x 5.00 in (457 x 305 x 127 mm) H x W x D; the part page lists a nominal size of 18 x 12 x 6 in, and the drawing shows 5.85 in overall depth. The part drawing gives a 17.97 x 11.97 in door, a 16.52 x 10.39 in door opening, a 16.17 x 10.17 in inner panel, and Ø0.50 in wall mounting holes spaced 16.50 x 10.50 in.

Formed 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams ground smooth forms the body, and a formed lip plus a seamless poured-in place gasket keep out flowing liquids and contaminants. Splitter blocks are factory installed (reference CSBL225). The hinged door has quarter turn slot latches requiring a tool, 304 stainless steel hinges and stainless steel pins; it is removable, interchangeable and stiffened where required. Finish is recoatable smooth ANSI 61 gray powder coating outside, with a white powder coated inner panel included on collar studs.

The CN4SB203 is CSA Type 3R, 12, 4 rated and complies with IEC 60529, IP66. It comes with a hardware kit of panel mounting nuts and sealing washers, accepts optional grounding kit CGK225, and ships boxed at 17 lbs (7.71 kg).
