Hammond 269EX 43VA 380V C.T. Plate Transformer, 6.3V Filament

The 269EX is a 43 VA high voltage (plate) and filament power transformer from the 200 Series. Its 380V center-tapped secondary makes it a fit for builders and technicians who need a higher plate voltage at modest current for small tube amplifiers and similar valve equipment on a 115V, 60 Hz line.

The primary is rated 115 VAC at 60 Hz. The A.C. high voltage secondary provides 380V C.T. at 71ma. R.M.S., and filament #1 provides 6.3V at 2.5A for tube heaters; there is no second filament winding.

As a 200 Series part it is an enclosed, 4 hole, chassis mount design with minimum 6 in leads and Class A insulation (105 degrees C). Units can be run full wave bridge or full wave C.T., are hi-pot tested at 2,000V RMS, and follow a conservative design that is CSA certified (209651).

The primary offers two input choices. For 115 VAC input, use the white and gray wires and tape the black wire. If line voltage runs high (roughly 125V) and the secondary voltage reads too high, use the white and black wires and tape the gray wire. Never connect power to both the gray and black wires, as instantaneous destruction of the transformer will result.

Dimensions are A 2.19 in (56 mm), B 2.63 in (67 mm), C 2.63 in (67 mm), D 1.75 in (44 mm) and F 1.56 in (40 mm), with mounting slots of 0.19 x 0.25 in (5 x 6 mm). Shipping weight is 1.8 lbs (0.82 kg). The 269EX carries UPC 623980274607 and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
