Hammond 269JX 50 VA Plate & Filament Transformer, 500V C.T.

The 269JX is a 50 VA high voltage (plate) and filament transformer designed for a 115 VAC, 60 Hz North American primary. Its high voltage secondary delivers 500V center-tapped at 69 mA, and a single 6.3V winding supplies 2.5A of filament current, giving integrators and hobby or OEM builders a small, enclosed part for a low-current plate supply.

Electrically, the 269JX is rated 50 VA with a 115 VAC, 60 Hz primary, a high voltage secondary rated 500V C.T. @ 69mA (RMS), and a single filament winding of 6.3V @ 2.5A. As with every 200 Series unit, it can be run full wave bridge or full wave C.T. It is the highest-voltage model among the single-filament 269 parts, trading a little current (69 mA) for a 500V C.T. winding.

The case is an enclosed, 4 hole, chassis mount design in the vertical (X) mounting style, with minimum 6 in long leads. Listed dimensions are A 2.19 in (56 mm), B 2.63 in (67 mm), C 2.63 in (67 mm), D 1.75 in (44 mm), F 1.56 in (40 mm), with 0.19 in (5 mm) x 0.25 in (6 mm) mounting slots. Shipping weight is 1.9 lbs (0.86 kg).

For the primary, the 200 Series wiring notes describe two choices: use the white and gray wires and tape the black wire for 115 VAC input, or use the white and black wires and tape the gray wire where roughly 125V line voltage is producing too high a secondary voltage. Never connect power to both the gray and black wires at once. Insulation is Class A (105 degrees C), units are hi-pot tested at 2,000V RMS, the design is CSA certified (209651), and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant.
