Hammond 266S24 240VA 24V CT / 12V @ 20A Power Transformer

The 266S24 is a 240VA power transformer rated 24V @ 10A with a center tap, or 12V @ 20A with its secondaries in parallel. It is an open style, chassis mount unit in the 266 Series with a dual 117/234 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary.

At 240VA it carries the highest rating in the 266 Series table, for 24V or 12V loads that need 10A or 20A; the series table lists it at 8.6 lbs (3.9 kg on its drawing).

Each unit has a dual 117/234 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary (wired in parallel for 117V, in series for 234V) and dual secondaries that can be used as a center tapped secondary, connected in parallel, or used individually. The 266S24 is designed for use with all windings engaged. Primary leads are Blk, Wht, Brn and Orn; secondary leads are Red, Blu, Gry and Yel, all at least 6" long.

It uses Mounting Style B with mounting holes 0.20 in (5 mm) high by 0.38 in (10 mm) wide. Listed dimensions are A 3.44 in (87 mm), B 3.60 in (91 mm), C 4.30 in (109 mm), D 2.75 in (70 mm), E 3.00 in (76 mm). Unit weight is 8.6 lbs (3.9 kg), with a shipping weight of 8 lbs (3.63 kg).

Construction uses a dual bobbin design, so no electrostatic shield is required, and Class B insulation (130 °C), while the unit is UL listed as a Class A (105 °C) design. It is hi-pot tested at 2,000V RMS, UL listed (# E207860) Type 3AH, CSA certified (209651), and RoHS and REACH compliant.
