Hammond 182H15 225VA Toroidal Transformer, Potted Center, Dual 15V

The 182H15 is a 225 VA toroidal transformer with dual 15 V secondaries, listed by the manufacturer as TOROID, 225VA, 50VA, 15/15V. Series connection gives 30 V center-tapped at 7.5 A and parallel connection gives 15 V at 15 A. The dual 117/234 VAC primary operates on 50/60 Hz, supporting high-current 15 V DC rails and bipolar supplies.

The 182 Series specification sheet notes the line will soon be discontinued as a stocked series, is available while quantities last, and has been replaced with the 1182 Series.

The 182H15 has a potted centre for extra mounting strength. It is 4.97 in (126 mm) in outside diameter and 1.90 in (48 mm) high, and mounts on a 1/4-20 centre bolt 2.50 in (64 mm) long. As a 225 VA unit it is supplied with one bottom rubber insulating pad and mounting hardware; the table lists bottom rubber washer only. Weight is 4.96 lbs per the series table; shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg).

Leads are flexible and at least 8 in long, and all windings are designed to be engaged. The transformer is Hi-Pot tested at 4,000 V RMS primary to secondary, CSA certified to C22.2 #66 (file 209651), UL recognized to UL506 (file E207860) and CE certified to IEC950, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Allow for toroidal inrush current with a slow-blow fuse, time delayed breaker or soft start.
