Hammond 182H240 160VA Toroidal Transformer, 240V Single Secondary

The 182H240 is a 160 VA toroidal power transformer listed as TOROID, 160VA, 50HZ, 240V. It has a single 240 V secondary rated at 667 mA and a dual 117/234 VAC primary for 50/60 Hz operation, providing a larger-capacity 240 V source for equipment and control power in a low profile package.

According to the 182 Series specification sheet, the line will soon be discontinued as a stocked series, is available while quantities last, and has been replaced with the 1182 Series.

The 182H240 measures 4.43 in (113 mm) in outside diameter and 1.73 in (44 mm) high, with an open centre. It uses a 1/4-20 centre bolt 2.50 in (64 mm) long, a top steel mounting washer and top and bottom rubber washers. At 160 VA it is among the units supplied with two rubber insulating pads, one metal centering washer and all mounting hardware. Weight is 3.87 lbs per the series table; shipping weight is 3.9 lbs (1.77 kg).

Leads are flexible, minimum 8 in. The primary is wired in parallel for 117 V and in series for 234 V. Hi-Pot testing is 4,000 V RMS between primary and secondary, with CSA C22.2 #66 (file 209651), UL506 recognition (file E207860) and CE to IEC950 approvals. RoHS and REACH compliant. Use a slow-blow fuse, time delayed breaker or soft start to manage inrush current.
