Hammond 1650KAP 50W 3.4K Ohm Potted Push-Pull Transformer, 12in Leads

The 1650KAP is a 50 watt push-pull hi-fi output transformer in a potted, black powder painted steel case, designed for push-pull tube output circuits. Its 3400 ohm centre-tapped primary is rated at 318 mA DC per side and the secondary provides 4, 8 and 16 ohm outputs.

Suggested tube types are 6L6GC, 807, 5881, EL34, 6146B and 6550B. The transformer includes 40% screen taps for Ultra-Linear operation if desired, and typical applications are push-pull triode, Ultra-Linear pentode, pentode and tetrode connected audio output. The manufacturer advises consulting a tube manual first, since operating conditions change the optimum plate-to-plate load.

The unit is enclosed in a drawn steel case, completely potted in epoxy, and finished in black powder paint to match the 300P series potted power transformers. The drawing describes an open style with minimum 12" long primary and secondary leads, and mounting via 1/4-20 UNC inserts (x 4). Series table dimensions are A 3.31 in, B 3.88 in, C 4.25 in, D 2.50 in, E 3.00 in and F 3.31 in, with G listed as 1/4-20 x 0.5" deep inserts; the table weight is 9 lbs and the shipping weight 11 lbs.

Rated response is 30 Hz to 30 kHz at full rated power, +/- 1 dB max. (ref. 1 kHz). Typical drawing data at 60 Hz: 32.74 ohms (Blue-Red) and 36.71 ohms (Red-Brown) primary DCR, 168 H primary inductance with 72 kOhm impedance, 10.02 mH leakage inductance, 2000 Vrms dielectric strength and a -40 to 105 C temperature range. The 1650KAP is made in Canada and RoHS and REACH compliant.
