The 1650KA is a 50 watt (RMS) output transformer for push-pull parallel tube amplifiers using 4 output tubes. Its low 3,400 ohm centre-tapped primary is rated at 318 mA DC per side, and the easy-wire secondary provides 4, 8 and 16 ohm taps.
Suggested tube types are 6L6GC, 807, 5881, EL34, 6146B and 6550B. As with the other 1608A-1650A models except the 1650G, 40% screen taps are provided for Ultra-Linear operation if desired, and typical applications include triode, Ultra-Linear pentode, pentode and tetrode connected push-pull output.
The drawing specifies a frequency response of 30 Hz to 30 kHz (+/- 1 dB max., ref. 1 kHz) minimum. Typical values at 60 Hz are 32.74 ohms (Blue-Red) and 36.71 ohms (Red-Brown) primary DCR, 170.0 H primary inductance with 78.0 kOhm impedance, and 9.42 mH leakage inductance. Secondary DCR is 0.306, 0.432 and 0.540 ohm on the green, yellow and white leads. Dielectric strength is 2000 Vrms; temperature range -40 to 105 C.
The enclosed (shielded) 1650KA mounts above chassis with 4 slot Type "X" mounting and uses plastic coil forms and insulated 8" minimum leads. Dimensions are A 3.13 in, B 4.00 in, C 3.81 in, D 2.50 in and E 2.69 in, weight 7 lbs. Made in Canada; RoHS and REACH compliant.
