The 1650FA is a 25 watt (RMS) push-pull output transformer for hi-fi tube amplifiers using a pair of mid-sized output tubes. Its 7,600 ohm centre-tapped primary is rated at 128 mA DC per side, and the secondary is tapped at 4, 8 and 16 ohms. (The part page describes the secondary as 4-8-16-70V; the series table and drawing list 4-8-16.)
Suggested tube types are 6L6GC, 6V6, 807, 5881 and EL34 in push-pull (2 tubes). The 40% screen taps allow Ultra-Linear operation if desired, and typical applications include triode, Ultra-Linear pentode, pentode and tetrode connected push-pull output.
Rated response is 30 Hz to 30 kHz at full rated power, +/- 1 dB max. (ref. 1 kHz). Typical drawing figures are 203.4 ohms primary DCR, 19.5 H primary inductance, 70 kOhm primary impedance and 702.5 mH leakage inductance at 1 kHz; secondary DCR runs 252 to 621 mOhm. Dielectric strength is 2000 Vrms and the temperature range -40 to 105 C.
The unit is enclosed (shielded) for 4 slot, above chassis Type "X" mounting, with plastic coil forms and insulated 8" minimum flexible leads. Dimensions are A 2.50 in, B 3.50 in, C 3.06 in, D 2.00 in and E 2.44 in, with 0.20 x 0.38 in slots and 4 lbs weight. The 1650FA is made in Canada and RoHS and REACH compliant.
