The 1620A is a 20 watt (RMS) hi-fi output transformer for push-pull tube amplifiers. It pairs a 6,600 ohm centre-tapped primary, rated at 158 mA DC per side, with an easy-wire secondary tapped for 4, 8 or 16 ohm loudspeakers.
Suggested output tubes are 6AQ5, 6L6 and 6V6 operated push-pull (2 tubes). Typical applications span triode, Ultra-Linear pentode, pentode and tetrode connected push-pull audio output, and 40% screen taps are included for Ultra-Linear operation if desired.
Performance is rated at 30 Hz to 30 kHz at full rated power, +/- 1 dB max. (ref. 1 kHz). Typical drawing values include 139.1 ohms primary DCR, 13.2 H primary inductance, 84.0 kOhm primary impedance and 549.6 mH primary leakage inductance, all at 1 kHz, plus 2000 Vrms dielectric strength and a -40 to 105 C temperature range.
