The 1650E is a 15 watt (RMS) push-pull hi-fi output transformer with an 8,000 ohm centre-tapped primary, rated for 100 mA DC per side. It gives small-bottle push-pull amplifiers more power headroom than the 10 W units at the same primary impedance, and its easy-wire secondary is tapped for 4, 8 and 16 ohm loads.
Suggested tube types are 6AQ5, 6V6, 6BQ5, EL84 and SV83 in push-pull (2 tubes). The 40% screen taps support Ultra-Linear operation if desired, and typical applications include triode, Ultra-Linear pentode, pentode and tetrode connected audio output.
Rated response is 30 Hz to 30 kHz at full rated power, +/- 1 dB max. (ref. 1 kHz). The drawing gives typical values of 212.3 ohms primary DCR, 337.5 mH leakage inductance and 413.9 kOhm primary impedance at 1 kHz, with 2000 Vrms dielectric strength and a -40 to 105 C temperature range.
The 1650E is enclosed (shielded) with 4 slot, above chassis Type "X" mounting. Dimensions are A 2.50 in (64 mm), B 3.25 in (83 mm), C 3.06 in (78 mm), D 2.00 in (51 mm) and E 2.50 in (64 mm), with 0.20 x 0.38 in slots. The series table lists 3.5 lbs and the shipping weight is 4 lbs. Plastic coil forms and insulated 8" minimum leads are used. Made in Canada; RoHS and REACH compliant.
