The 162E12 is a low voltage, low profile P.C. board mount power transformer from the 162-164 Series, aimed at OEM and circuit board designers who want one part that runs from either 115V or 230V. It is the universal dual primary (115/230V) version, rated 2.4 VA for 50/60 Hz operation; the single 115V primary equivalent is 164E12.
The drawing shows two 6.3V secondaries at 200 mA each, for 12.6V centre-tapped at .2A in series or 6.3V at .4A in parallel. The drawing's no-load test lists 7.713V ±2% on each secondary (pins 5-6 and 7-8) at 115V, 60 Hz, and the units are designed so that all windings must be used.
Construction is a low profile, split bobbin design with dual winding secondaries that are non-concentrically wound. Low primary to secondary coupling means no electrostatic shield is required.
