The 1599TABMGYBAT is the medium-size 1599TAB tablet enclosure in light gray with a battery door and compartment. Its low, ergonomic profile is made to be held comfortably, and it is a good fit for instruments or mobile data devices with a touch screen that run on AA or 9V batteries.
The enclosure is molded from flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0. Six M3-0.5 x 18mm Phillips cover screws thread into integral brass inserts factory installed in the top half, so the case can be assembled and disassembled repeatedly. PCB standoffs are molded into both the top and bottom halves and accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws.
Listed size is 6.67 x 5.31 x 1.06 in (169 x 135 x 27 mm); the ordering table gives 170 x 135 x 27 mm and the drawing shows 169.98 x 135.00 x 27.00 mm. Inner height is 20.75 mm, PCB post height is 4.75 mm, and the maximum PC board is 126.02 mm long by 87.94 mm wide. The top carries a 158.57 x 123.57 mm inlay area and the bottom a 44 x 33 x 0.5 mm label inlay.
Each 1599TABMGYBAT includes top and bottom cover, one removable end panel, the battery door, eight battery spring clips (for 4 x AA), two 9V adapters and six cover screws. It ships shrink wrapped at 0.46 lbs (0.21 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Solid models are available in .stp or .x_t.
