Hammond 1599RFIBBKBAT 130 x 65 mm EMI/RFI Shielded Case with Battery Door

The 1599RFIBBKBAT is the battery door version of the compact 1599RFI B-size shielded handheld enclosure. It suits small battery-powered devices that need protection from EMI and RFI, in a 130 x 65 x 25 mm (5.12 x 2.56 x 0.97 in) black housing.

The box and lid are molded from conductive plastic, a compound of stainless steel fibers and flame retardant ABS with a UL flammability rating of 94V-0. Lap joint construction protects against dust accumulation and splashing water. The lid is fastened with Phillips machine screws into tapped integral brass bushings, so the case tolerates repeated opening for battery or board service.

The series table lists 130 x 65 x 26 mm. Inside, the drawing shows 124.13 mm length, 59.82 mm width and 19.50 mm height. Because of the battery compartment, the maximum PC board for the 1599RFIBBKBAT is 53 x 89.25 mm (board not supplied). The assembly includes box, lid, battery door and 4 cover screws; recommended torque is 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m), and 1594MS100 is the listed extra assembly screw.

Observe the series safety notes: conductive plastic is not an insulator and must be treated like a metal enclosure, and significant current flow will heat the plastic and produce smoke. The material is brittle and not for high impact use. Shipped shrink wrapped; RoHS and REACH compliant.
