Hammond 1599HTSBK 220 x 110 mm Short-Slope Console, Black FR Abs

The 1599HTSBK is a black short-slope sloping console from the 1599T series, a slope-top plastic console for interface and control electronics built by OEM engineers and integrators. This H-size console is 220 mm wide and 110 mm from front to rear, stepping from its 18 mm front height up to a 40 mm rear height.

The box and lid are molded from flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0. Standard versions close with M3-0.5 machine screws that thread into brass bushings, so the lid can be removed and refitted repeatedly; the recommended cover screw torque is 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m). The rear of the enclosure has two flat removable panels for easy modification, and the H size includes PC board standoffs on the inside bottom. Four black rubber feet are included with the enclosure.

The maximum P.C. board size is 96.5 mm long by 212.5 mm wide (board not supplied), and the inside of the box accepts #4 self-tapping screws for mounting it. The top carries a recessed inlay of 204.75 mm [8.06 in] by 97.50 mm [3.84 in], set at a 12.0° slope angle on the drawing.

The 1599HTSBK is listed with an IP54 rating, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink-wrapped with a shipping weight of 0.48 lbs (0.22 kg). The drawing notes that the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and that STEP or IGES solid models are available.

Some chemicals can damage or weaken ABS, including acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds and cutting or tapping fluid, so check any cleaner, lubricant or fluid for plastic compatibility before use.
