Hammond 1597D3MTC DIN 3, 6 & 9 Blank Closed Terminal Cover

The 1597D3MTC is a blank, closed Italtronic terminal insert for the 1597DM Series DIN rail mounted enclosures. It closes off a terminal opening completely, which suits designs where one or more terminal positions on the enclosure are not used or should be sealed from view. The series accessory table lists it for the DIN 3, DIN 6 and DIN 9 size groups.

The cover is made from PC-ABS with a UL94 V-0 flame rating. It measures 2.07 in x 0.54 in x 0.79 in (53 mm x 14 mm x 20 mm) and ships at 0.01 lbs (0.00 kg). It is RoHS and REACH compliant.

Because DIN group numbers in the 1597DM range refer to the number of terminals on each side of the enclosure, the DIN 3, 6 and 9 housings share the same family of terminal covers. Alongside the 1597D3MTC, that family includes a blank open cover, a cover with holes, a cover with punch-out holes and a cover with a bus connector, so you can pick a different face for each side of an enclosure. Hammond notes that some accessories are not compatible with every enclosure in a DIN size group, and recommends confirming fit on the enclosure drawing.

Some chemicals can damage or weaken plastic, so check the manufacturer's Chemical Resistance Statement before using solvents, thread-locking compounds or cutting fluids near the part.
