Hammond 1594RBBK 81 x 56mm EMI/RFI Shielded Black ABS Enclosure

The 1594RBBK is the B size of the 1594R Thick-Wall Plastic Enclosures w/ EMI/ RFI Shielding series, a rectangular 81 x 56 mm housing for small printed circuit boards that must be protected from electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. It suits RF, instrumentation and embedded designers who want shielding built into a rugged plastic enclosure.

Each enclosure part has its interior specially masked and sprayed with an RFI/EMI copper conductive coating. The coating manufacturer specifies attenuation of more than 75 dB from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The shell is flame retardant ABS plastic (UL94 V-0), with a heavy duty wall averaging .13 in (3.3 mm) and a black matte textured finish.

The part is listed at 3.2 in x 2.2 in x 1.1 in (81 mm x 56 mm x 28 mm); the series table gives 81 x 56 mm with an enclosure depth, less lid, of 28 mm. Per the drawing, the box is 81.00 mm [3.189 in] by 56.00 mm [2.205 in], with a narrowest inside dimension of 46.67 mm [1.838 in] and an inner box height of 34.30 mm [1.350 in].

A countersunk lid attaches with four M3 x 0.5 - 0.71 in (18 mm) long Phillips machine screws into integral brass bushings, suited to repeated assembly and disassembly. The 1594RBBK is designed to meet IP54, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.18 lbs (0.08 kg). Circuit board holders are listed in the 1594Z Series, and Hammond offers factory modification such as milling, drilling and printing.
