Hammond 1594RDBK 132 x 66mm EMI/RFI Shielded Black ABS Enclosure

The 1594RDBK is the D size in the 1594R Thick-Wall Plastic Enclosures w/ EMI/ RFI Shielding series, offering a 132 x 66 mm shielded housing for printed circuit boards. It suits designers who need a longer board envelope with EMI/RFI protection built into a heavy duty plastic enclosure.

Inside, each enclosure part is masked and sprayed with an RFI/EMI copper conductive coating; the coating manufacturer specifies attenuation of more than 75 dB from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The enclosure is molded from flame retardant ABS plastic (UL94 V-0) with a thick wall averaging .13 in (3.3 mm), finished in black matte texture.

The part is listed at 5.2 in x 2.6 in x 1.7 in (132 mm x 66 mm x 43 mm); the series table lists 132 x 66 mm with an enclosure depth, less lid, of 43 mm. The drawing gives 131.50 mm [5.177 in] by 66.30 mm [2.610 in], a narrowest inside dimension of 56.97 mm [2.243 in] and an inner box height of 49.30 mm [1.941 in].

The countersunk lid is secured by four M3 x 0.5 - 0.71 in (18 mm) long Phillips machine screws into integral brass bushings, a design the series recommends for repetitive assembly and disassembly. Designed to meet IP54, the 1594RDBK is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.33 lbs (0.15 kg). Circuit board holders are covered by the 1594Z Series, and factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is available.
