The 1593NGY is a light grey 1593N handheld enclosure. Hammond designed the 1593N sizes to house smart card readers, and the wide, shallow body also gives general handheld instruments plenty of board area in a case that fits comfortably in the hand.
Molded from general purpose ABS with a satin texture, the 1593NGY is UL94 HB rated and designed to meet IP54. Grey enclosures include nickel finish screws, and each assembly has the top and bottom cover, four plastic end panels (two flat, two contoured) and two cover screws.
Dimensions: 111 x 75 x 25 mm (4.37 x 2.95 x 0.98 in) in the series table; 4.3 x 2.9 x 1 in (109 x 74 x 25 mm) on the part page. The drawing shows inside length 103.50 mm, inside width 68.82 mm and inside height 19.70 mm. A PCB up to 102.50 x 66.14 mm mounts on bosses that accept #4 self-tapping screws, and the top has a 99.20 x 64.00 mm recess for a membrane overlay.
Recommended torque is 40 cN-m [57 ozf-in] on cover screws and 20-30 cN-m [29-42 ozf-in] on internal screws. Grey replacement panels are 1593NLGY1-10 (flat) and 1593NLGY2-10 (contoured), and 1593NIR10 and 1593NAL10 packs fit this size. The 1593NGY is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped and weighs 0.17 lbs (0.08 kg).
