The 1591XXABK is a black, flame retardant ABS enclosure in the 1591XX multi-purpose series, built for mounting a printed circuit board horizontally. At a nominal 101 x 51 x 25 mm it is one of the slimmer sizes in the range and suits OEM engineers and integrators packaging a small board.
The textured black box is molded from easy-to-machine flame retardant ABS carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating. Internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation, and both the lid and the box contain integral PC board standoffs. PC board mounting bosses inside the box and lid are sized for #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws, which are not included; PC board screws are available as 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100.
On this standard version the lid is secured with M3-0.5 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, which suits applications with repeated assembly and disassembly. The purchased assembly includes box, lid, 4 black cover screws and installed brass inserts; recommended torque is (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. The enclosure provides protection against dust and splashing water and is designed to meet IP54.
The drawing shows overall dimensions of 100.90 x 51.40 x 25.00 mm, an inside cavity of 95.65 x 46.15 x 21.00 mm and a 2.00 mm wall. The largest PCB that fits in the box or lid is 94.00 x 44.50 mm. Accessory mounting flanges 1591FABK and 1591FAGY are sold separately. The 1591XXABK is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.11 lbs (0.05 kg).
