Hammond 1591RSBK 110x82x44 mm EMI/RFI Shielded Abs Pcb Enclosure

The 1591RSBK is a 110 x 82 x 44 mm black ABS enclosure with an EMI/RFI copper conductive coating on the inside of each part. Its 110 x 82 mm footprint and 44 mm depth give designers a mid-sized shielded housing for printed circuit boards that need some component height.

Each enclosure part is molded from flame retardant ABS plastic, a material carrying a UL flammability rating of 94V-0, in a smooth black finish with black screws. The interior of each part is specially masked and sprayed with an RFI/EMI copper conductive coating, and the coating manufacturer specifies an attenuation of more than 75 dB from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54 and is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.

The nominal size is 110 x 82 x 44 mm, and the drawing gives overall dimensions of 110.10 x 82.20 x 44.00 mm. Inside dimensions of 103.77 x 75.87 x 39.90 mm leave space for a mid-sized board and its components in the card guides. Internal side walls include molded-in card guides with a guide height of 34.90 mm and a slot width of 2.06 mm, making the case well suited to vertical mounting of printed circuit boards.

The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and pre-installed brass inserts. The lid is secured with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, which suits applications where repetitive assembly and disassembly are required; recommended torque is 35.5-42.5 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). The matching plastic flange kit for the 1591RSBK is 1591FSBK. Some chemicals can damage or weaken plastic, so check the manufacturer's chemical resistance guidance before using solvents, thread lockers or cutting fluids.
