Hammond 1591RUBK 120x120x59 mm Square EMI/RFI Shielded ABS Enclosure

The 1591RUBK is a square 120 x 120 x 59 mm black ABS enclosure with an EMI/RFI copper conductive coating sprayed on its interior. The square footprint gives engineers a shielded case for wider or square printed circuit boards and small electronic assemblies.

Each enclosure part is molded from flame retardant ABS plastic, a material carrying a UL flammability rating of 94V-0, in a smooth black finish with black screws. The interior of each part is specially masked and sprayed with an RFI/EMI copper conductive coating, and the coating manufacturer specifies an attenuation of more than 75 dB from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The enclosure is designed to meet IP54 and is listed as RoHS and REACH compliant.

The nominal size is 120 x 120 x 59 mm, and the drawing gives overall dimensions of 120.00 x 120.00 x 59.00 mm. Inside, it offers 113.54 x 113.54 mm of length and width with 54.90 mm of height, suiting square boards mounted in the card guides. Internal side walls include molded-in card guides with a guide height of 49.90 mm and a slot width of 2.06 mm, making the case well suited to vertical mounting of printed circuit boards.

The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and pre-installed brass inserts. The lid is secured with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, which suits applications where repetitive assembly and disassembly are required; recommended torque is 35.5-42.5 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). The matching plastic flange kit for the 1591RUBK is 1591FUBK.
