Hammond 1591GC Clear Polycarbonate Lid for 1591G Enclosures

The 1591GC is a clear polycarbonate lid made for the 1591G size of the 1591 ABS multipurpose enclosure series. It is sold as the lid only, for builders who want a transparent top on a 1591G enclosure instead of the standard ABS lid.

The series ordering tables list the 1591GC as the clear lid accessory for every 1591G enclosure, both without mounting flanges (1591GBK, 1591GGY, 1591GSBK, 1591GSGY) and with mounting flanges (1591GFLBK, 1591GFLGY, 1591GSFLBK, 1591GF2BK, 1591GF2GY, 1591GF2SBK, 1591GF2SGY). Those enclosures have a nominal size of 4.76 in (121 mm) x 3.70 in (94 mm) x 1.34 in (34 mm).

The lid itself measures 4.74 in x 3.69 in x 0.24 in (120 mm x 94 mm x 6 mm) and weighs 0.07 lbs (0.03 kg) for shipping. It is molded from flame retardant polycarbonate rated UL94 V-0, the part page lists IP54, and it is RoHS and REACH compliant. It ships in shrink wrap.

Note that the 1591 series advises caution with chemicals: acetone, ketones, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, thread-locking compounds, cutting or tapping fluid and strong solvents are known to affect its polycarbonate and ABS enclosures, so use plastic-safe cleaners.
