The 1591DSBK is the black economy version of the 1591D project box: a 150 x 80 x 50 mm (5.91 x 3.15 x 1.97 in) plastic case without mounting flanges. It is aimed at hobbyists, educators and OEM builders who need an affordable general purpose enclosure for a circuit board and do not require flame retardant material.
Economy versions are molded from general purpose ABS that is not flame retardant (UL94 HB). The lid attaches with four black #4 self-tapping screws into fully plastic posts, with a recommended torque of 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m). Lap joint construction helps keep dust and splashing water out, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.
The drawing lists inside dimensions of 143.61 x 73.61 x 46.10 mm (5.654 x 2.898 x 1.815 in). Card guides molded into every side wall hold 1.5 mm (0.062") boards upright, with a guide height of 41.10 mm.
The 1591DSBK weighs 0.24 lbs (0.11 kg), ships shrink wrapped with box, lid and 4 cover screws, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Replacement screws are 1591TS100BK (black, 100 pack). A light gray equivalent is 1591DSGY.
