The 1591DGY is a plain (unflanged) light gray project box from the 1591 Series, measuring 150 x 80 x 50 mm (5.91 x 3.15 x 1.97 in). It is intended for vertical mounting of printed circuit boards and suits electronics designers, repair technicians and OEMs who want a general purpose case that can be drilled and fitted out quickly.
The box and lid are molded from flame retardant ABS carrying a UL94 V-0 rating. The lid is held by four M3-0.5 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws with nickel finish, threading into pre-installed brass inserts so the case can be opened and closed repeatedly. Lap joint construction guards against dust and splashing water, and the design meets IP54.
Inside there is 143.61 x 73.61 x 46.10 mm (5.654 x 2.898 x 1.815 in) of space. Card guides molded into all side walls accept 1.5 mm (0.062") boards, while 1591Z card adaptors let boards sit horizontally. For a see-through top, the 1591DC clear polycarbonate lid fits this size.
The 1591DGY weighs 0.29 lbs (0.13 kg), ships shrink wrapped, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Recommended cover screw torque is 35.5-42.5 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). Mounting flange versions of this size include 1591DFLGY (flanged lid) and 1591DF2GY (bottom flange).
