The 1590ZGRP131 is a long, narrow thick-wall enclosure molded from gray glass reinforced polyester. At 190 mm long and only 75 mm wide, it suits OEM engineers and integrators who need a watertight housing for a slim circuit board that needs IP66 and NEMA 4X protection.
Overall size is 7.48 x 2.94 x 2.17 in (190 x 75 x 55 mm). The base is 40 mm deep and the lid 15 mm, and the drawing gives inside dimensions of 180.62 mm long, 65.01 mm wide and 47.80 mm high. A PC board up to 178.5 x 63 mm fits on the molded-in mounting shelf, which also carries the bonding/mounting nuts for the optional 1590ZGRP131PL steel inner panel.
The gasketed lid uses two piece tongue and groove construction with an EPDM sponge rubber gasket and self-captivated stainless steel screws. Hammond recommends a cover screw torque of 6-7.5 lbf.in (70-85 cN.m). Wall-mounting through holes sit outside the gasket channel, so fixing the box to a wall does not break the seal.
The 1590ZGRP131 is rated IP66, NEMA 1, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, certified to NEMA 4, 4X per UL 508A, and C UL and UL listed under file E65324. It carries an IK09 impact rating, a UL94 V-0 flame rating and a recommended operating range of -40°C to +120°C, and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
