Hammond 1590ZGRP161 160mm Square, 90mm Deep Fiberglass NEMA 4X Enclosure

The 1590ZGRP161 is a square 160 x 160 mm thick-wall enclosure molded from gray glass reinforced polyester. It gives integrators and OEM designers a compact, watertight box for PC boards and electronics that need NEMA 4X and IP66 protection.

Outside size is 6.3 x 6.3 x 3.56 in (160 x 160 x 90 mm). The ordering table breaks the 90 mm assembled depth into a 70 mm deep base and a 20 mm deep lid. The internal mounting shelf, with molded-in bonding/mounting nuts, takes a PC board up to 142.5 x 142 mm or the optional 1590ZGRP161PL galvanized steel inner panel.

The lid closes with two piece tongue and groove construction over an EPDM sponge rubber gasket, held by four self-captivated stainless steel screws. Recommended cover screw torque is 8-9.5 lbf.in (90-110 cN.m). Replacement screws come as SC570-20 (M6 - 1.0 x 30mm, 20 pack), and wall-mounting through holes are placed outside the gasket channel.

Ratings for the 1590ZGRP161 include IP66, NEMA 1, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, NEMA 4, 4X certification per UL 508A, C UL and UL listing under file E65324, IK09 impact resistance and a UL94 V-0 flame rating. Hammond recommends operation from -40°C to +120°C (-40°F to +248°F). The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 2.79 lbs (1.27 kg).
