Hammond 1590ZGRP081 80x75x55 mm Fiberglass Watertight Enclosure

The 1590ZGRP081 is the smallest footprint in the 1590ZGRP Series: a gray, thick wall fiberglass enclosure with a nominal size of 80 mm x 75 mm x 55 mm (3.15 in x 2.95 in x 2.17 in). It suits electricians, controls engineers and OEMs who need a compact, rugged non-metallic box for terminals, sensors or a small circuit board in wet or harsh locations.

The enclosure is molded from glass reinforced polyester with a smooth finish and a heavy duty thick wall. It is C UL and UL listed under file #E65324, rated IP66 and certified to NEMA 4, 4X standards per UL 508A (the part data lists NEMA 1, 4, 4X, 12 and 13), with an IK09 impact rating in conformity with IEC62262 and a UL94 V-0 flame rating. Recommended operating temperature is -40°C to +120°C (-40°F to +248°F).

The box is 40 mm deep and the lid 15 mm deep. Inside, the drawing shows 70.42 mm (2.77 in) length, 65.32 mm (2.57 in) width and 47.30 mm (1.86 in) height, with room for a PC board up to 68 mm x 63 mm. An internal shelf with molded-in nuts accepts M4x0.7 screws for bonding or for the optional 16 gauge galvanized steel inner panel, 1590ZGRP081PL.

The lid is sealed by an EPDM sponge rubber gasket in two piece tongue and groove construction and held by four self-captivated M4 - 0.7 x 25 mm stainless steel screws (recommended torque 6-7.5 lbf.in, 70-85 cN.m). Wall mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel. Each 1590ZGRP081 includes the box, lid, gasket and four cover screws.
